» Premium Wood Wine Rack Kits - 7 ft + -
General Info
Effective August 23, 2010 - For Premium Kit orders of less than $1000 you will be charged $109 per rack for US orders or $80 for Canadian orders in addition to the $30 delivery charge.
Why are we doing this? Because shipping is very costly for only a few racks. As opposed to globally increasing our racking prices, we've kept the pricing at a moderate level and will charge surcharge for smaller orders. As most of the Premium Kit orders are over $1000, we trust there should be minimal disruption to our customers. Please let us know if you have any concerns.
These 7ft+ Premium Kits are directly interchangeable with our 6.1- Premium Kits. All the modules/widths are the same but the heights are different to accommodate for varying ceiling heights often found within cellars.
The quality of our Premium wood wine rack kits is the same as our custom wood wine racks; by adding your own base, crown and display areas you will elevate your wine rack "kit" cellar to "Grand Cru" status.
These 7ft premium wood wine rack kits are 13-3/8" deep and 84 13/16" high (just higher than 7ft with the crown molding). The edges of all pieces have a nice radius detail. NO PLUGS/Screws at front of racks. Standard wine bottles are completely submerged within the wine racks. The wood thickness is 11/16" x 1 1/2".
ANGLE DISPLAYS showcase your prized collection.
INTEGRATED BASE & CROWN allow for a finished/custom look at a fraction of the cost and effort.
PLEASE NOTE DELIVERY FOR THE PREMIUM KITS IS USUALLY 3-4 WEEKS.
Three types of wood are available in this wine rack series:

Premium Redwood - variegated red to blond tones.

Western Red Cedar, Grade A (Non-aromatic) - consistently light brown color, no smell.

Malaysian Mahogany - a light colored alternative.
Cedar has a lighter brown color and redwood is darker reddish color. The wood selected for your custom wine cellar or racking modules should be chosen to match floor tiles, wall colors etc. No matter what material you select it is always the highest grade and quality available within that wood species.
Please note, that as wood is a natural substance there will be some color variation within the modules.
Why don't we offer an option for staining?
While cork is an effective seal against liquid, it is permeable to air. The smell/odour emitted by stains may affect your wine.
Also, we also find the 1 step dip stain process used by some of our competitors to provide a low quality finish and poor appearance
Our racks DO NOT NEED TO BE FINISHED/TREATED IN ANY WAY - they are beautiful as is!
What is different about Premium Kits when compared to competitors?
Rosehill is the only distributor to offer modules at 7' heights. Your standard racking module available online or in catalogs is typically 6' tall and lacks some of the innovative features which simplify assembly.
Angle Displays and incorporated base & crown is standard!
Wood thickness, full bottle depth, no nail holes on front of rack.
smooth radius edge
So many modules to choose from......
NAILS versus SCREWS? - The structural integrity of the racks makes no difference from nails to screws, especially if you angle the nails upon insertion. Screws are also going to be wider potentially splitting wood as well have a larger head that may not be as attractive as a discreet nail. A brad nailer is much easier/cleaner for assembly than hammer & nails. Only advantage of screws is that you can take the rack apart in the future but with nails you can't. The overall structural integrity of the rack is going to be solidified once the racks are attached to the wall.
All hardware is included for assembly and for fastening to the wall. However, we prefer a brad nailer. These racks must be fastened to the wall.
There is NO hardware available to make this system double depth. If handy, you would be able to rig something on your own by creating a bridge to fasten the racks together. The rows with the angle display will not allow for double deep storage.
Assembly of these wine racks is easy. The vertical ladders come with bottle cleats already attached. The horizontal crosspieces have notches, which fit into the notches on the already assembled vertical ladders.

Many of the Premium Kit units feature an angle display so you can easily see your wine labels.
