A Curious Coupling … That Works

Eggs long have been a boogeyman at the table of wine.

Eggs, especially runny yolk, coat the mouth in a resolute way. It isn’t that eggs spoil wine. They simply prevent it from being tasted. One solution to making wine taste better with eggs is to cook them hard, but that isn’t good on eggs.

What’s better for both egg and wine is merely to choose wines that are liquid squeegees and that cleanse away eggs’ delicious gooeyness. Light reds, sparkling (or even slightly prickly) and lean white wines, all of which sport high acidity, fill the bill.

A Curious Coupling … That Works

Jelly beans and wine? Now that’s weird

“All of the wines were undrinkable with jelly beans and that was no surprise. Although a few big red wines can be paired with bittersweet chocolate, none of the wines in the tasting had the requisite sweetness for jelly beans. Desserts and sugary preparations require wines that are as sweet or sweeter than they. A semi-sweet sparkling wine such as Moscato d’Asti or a fortified wine such as port are normally safe choices. The Slim Jim, a smoky and spicy meat stick, in my opinion did not improve the taste of any of our wine samples although I expected it to marry well with the Gigondas.”

When your clients ask for a wine cellar, what do you do?

Rosehill Wine Racks is a resource that can change the way you respond to your next wine storage request.

Based on seventeen years experience in building wine cellars, custom wine racking and wine cabinets for home, hotel and restaurant owners around the world, Rosehill Wine Cellars has established a sophisticated, CAD-CAM driven production facility dedicated to the very specific requirements of wine rack fabrication for commercial and residential installations.

Our 15,000 sq. ft. state-of-the-art facility offers a complete custom service to the building, architectural and design trades. Supported by our capabilities, you can provide your commercial and private clients complete custom cellar options. Our technology intensive process employs German and Italian built high precision machines to transform raw material into installation-ready components.

While Redwood remains the established industry standard, Sapele and Walnut are becoming more popular. Rosehill Wine Racks also works in White Oak, Maple, Douglas Fir and Cherry with racking, architectural components and trim all produced to a precision fit and uniform finish.

A great wine cellar deserves an entranceway as unique the cellar itself and Rosehill Wine Racks can supply it. We manufacture wine cellar entry doors to the distinct requirements that ensure the climate control integrity of the cellar, while complementing both the cellar design and the surrounding interior design.

In addition to providing racking-to-order for complete custom cellar installations, we also produce a line of premium kit racks under the Premier Cru Kits brand name. These kits, unequalled in quality and features, offer you a lower cost alternative to custom racking that can be shipped quickly and tailored on site to the attributes of your location.

Complementing our experience in equipping hundreds of private cellars, our commercial installations include the 2011 ARIDO design award winning Aria Ristorante, the Platinum Lounge at ACC, Canoe, Soto Soto, the National Club, the Albany Club, Casino Niagara, and wineries in the Niagara Peninsula.

Whether you send us your computer drawings, provide measurements or invite one of our experts to assess the site, you can be assured that you can offer your client a great range of material choices, complete custom design, precision production and a beautiful result delivered on time.

For your next wine storage challenge, we look forward to helping you rack up a spectacular success.

A Curious Coupling … That Works

Gnocchi Poutine

“This is Italian-Quebecois fusion at its best,” writes Nadia G, a Montreal comedian whose outrageous online “crazy comedy-cooking show,” Nadia G’s Bitchin’ Kitchen, got picked up by Food Network Canada and Cooking Channel. She recommends fresh gnocchi from an Italian specialty store. Most grocery stores sell it in the refrigerated area with the fresh pastas, or on the shelf in vacuum packs.
